Underground mine tours (the only in the World)
For those with an adventurous spirit and the time to spare: Book an Underground Tour of a working Diamond Mine at least two weeks prior to your intended visit.
Size of group: 4 - 40 persons.
Tour days: From Mondays to Saturdays.
The tram takes you to the mine at 08:40. The cage goes down at 09:00 (sharp) to level 763 meters, under the big hole of Cullinan and comes up at 11:45 and finish with a visit to the Diamond Hub.
Exit through the Diamond Hub where Cullinan Diamonds sells exquisite diamonds, precious and semi precious jewelery.
Through glass windows, view the cutting and polishing of diamonds by "previously disadvantaged" local people.
(Weekdays only.)
This is the only place in the world where one may see a diamond mine, a cutting and polishing facility and jewelery market all in one.
Duration of tour: Please allow 5 hours for this once in a lifetime experience. We recommend this tour to the physically fit persons of 16 years and older.
Visitors are provided with Safety gear from head to toe for the underground tour of the Mine. Cullinan Tourism also provides immaculate, secure and comfortable changing rooms. Please supply the size of shoes and of clothes when you reserve a place on this tour. Those who so wish may buy their overalls as a souvenir. Temperature underground is a comfortable 28 degrees C
DIAMOND SAFARI - MOTORISED SURFACE MINE TOUR
Visitors travel in a special vehicle into the red areas (never before seen by outsiders) and are taken 800 meters up onto the highest mine dump and for a rare view of "The Beach" and from the wall of No. 7 dam.
Visitors, however, may not leave the tour vehicle.
(Can't have cheeky little diamonds form an attachment to so many soles.)
SURFACE WALK - THE PLANT MINE TOUR
Size of group: Up to 100.
Tour days: 7 Days a week, except on Christmas day.
Duration: Two hours.

HISTORICAL TOUR WITH JOHN LINCOLN
For those who love History. The Historical Tour with John Lincoln (our famous local historian)
You may book a Historical tour a week in advance with our Local Historian for a personal guided tour of the heritage sites in and around Cullinan Village.
Visitors are taken to rarely seen locations such as the Zonderwater Prisoner of War museum, the mine campongs, etc. Visitors are welcome to ask those very specialized questions that nobody else can answer.
Size of group: Only place for 5 lucky people.
Groups of up to 20 by special appointment 2 weeks prior to tour.
Tour days: Sundays or by special appointment.
Duration: Two hours.
Price: R50 per person.
GUIDED HISTORICAL TRAM RIDES
Those interested in History may enjoy a guided Tram ride with our curator through the heart of historical Cullinan.

GAME DRIVES
A Game Drive on Premier Game Farm (4.5km outside Cullinan on R513)
This 1000 Ha. farm provides a diverse ecology and collection of indigenous fauna and flora. It is also home to Big Girl, Little Boy and Princess Danielle, three of the well-loved white Rhino personalities. There are also Sable, Tsessebe, Eland, Giraffe, Wildebeest and Water buck to name but a few. Also many bird species for the avid bird watcher.
Game drive vehicles for Groups of 4 and up to 25 go out with Byron and Tracker Daniel who insure a truly memorable bush experience.
Tours are available any time from 09:00 to 15:30 on weekends or 08:00 during weekdays and please dress warmly. Allow at least 2 hours for a game drive.

HOT AIR BALLOONING
Experience the beauty and tranquility of our hidden valley not known to many and yet a mere 40 km from Pretoria on route to Cullinan. Relax and absorb the peaceful nature of the African cliffs and bush while brushing the trees with the basket and listening to the cobbling of the water in the stream below.
MICROLIGHT FLYING
Situated a few kilometers outside Cullinan, we offer scenic leisure flights over Cullinan and the Dinokeng areas.
STEAM TRAIN EXCURSIONS
Friends of The Rail steam off to Cullinan and Rayton regularly for a day in the countryside. Departs from depot at 08:30. Back at the depot about 17:15.
