| Description | Bee Tree Cottage and Kraal, de Tweedespruit environment, has one private Cottage for 2, self catering and the 'Kraal' that sleeps 10 people, self catering.
Bee Tree Cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and comfortably appointed for two people. Electricity is limited to a fridge, lights and a radio to keep in touch, if you wish. For cooking, we have installed a two-plate gas burner. The bathroom has a basin, shower with hot and cold running water and a flushing toilet connected to a septic tank. Towels and soap are provided. During the winter months or cool summer nights you may enjoy a touch of yesteryear. Curl up to the "Welcome Dover"' stove that burns with coal and wood and heats up the cottage in no time at all. The stove is, of course, ideal for cooking too. Cool down under our cold water bush shower on those balmy summer days and nights. It’s big enough for two! Enjoy a "braai" and tranquil sunset or gaze out over the pond that is visible from the cottage. The cottage is in the transition region between broad-leaved woodland and Highveld grasslands. The Kraal offers two bush cabins, and dorm style accommodation with comfortable ablution facilities sleeping a total of 10 persons. This is ideal for groups/clubs, reunions, workshops, courses etc. The two ablutions facilities each provide a hot shower with toilet and basin. The lapa (kraal) features a large 10 seater table, large fire-place, whilst the kitchen is equipped with a fridge, basin, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans for 10 people. The Kraal is extremely convenient for Bird viewers that would like to stay for the weekend, taking your time to wander on the 23 hectare farm with an abundance of trees and as this is the start of the Bushveld we have indigenous trees, such as African Wild Seringa and Protea Kaffra (Suikerbossie) literally enveloping the cottage and Kraal. We have installed a water hole and feeding area for small antelope that often visit the Farm. One such water feature at the Cottage is ‘privacy to the Cottage guests’ for privacy for the duration of their stay on the Farm, else the 2nd water and feeding area will be pointed out to our guests. (Please note all bookings/enquiries for prices, must be done via beetree@lantic.net or a direct phone call to 074 322 5225.) Special arrangements for 'picnic baskets' can also be arranged at the same booking number if required. Special 'celebration arrangements' can also be made according to your budget. i.e. Champagne, flowers, etc. Quotes for 'braai's, potbread, salads etc for Kraal Venue’s on request. Check-In: 01:00 PM Check-Out 10:00 AM (latest 13h00PM) on prior arrangement. For the Bird viewers, we need to mention that Bee Tree was selected as one of the top 101 Bird viewing Destinations in Gauteng. (The Chamberlain Guide to Birding Gauteng 101 prime birding sites in and around Johannesburg and Pretoria, by Etienne Marais and Faansie Peacock) Attached a full list of the last updated sightings of 286 Bird Species in our area, making Bee Tree Cottage and Kraal the ideal destination for weekend Bird viewers or day trip viewers Very recent as 12 November 2009, Adrian Haagner send out mail to all the sabirdnet@lists.ukzn.ac.za recipients mentioning: "Just a quick note to say that the Tinkling Cisticolas are currently quite vocal in the De Tweedespruit conservancy just north of Cullinan (broadleaf Burkea sections). One particularly confiding pair was located just before Bee Tree Farm on the SE side of the road. Also of interest there is a pair of Pearl-breasted swallows busy with nest building." |
